What makes me, ME!

Are all the trees the same?

No! They all look so different, right?

Do you know that every tree is unique?

This means that no two trees are the same.

Even trees that look the same on the outside, are different on the inside!

Each tree has its own special pattern inside its trunk.

Isn’t that amazing?

There are different kinds of gifts. There are different ways to serve. But they all come from the same Lord. 1 Corinthians 12:4-5

Our story today is about a man named Gideon.
When God made Gideon, he gave him special gifts.
These gifts helped Gideon and others.
God has given you special gifts too!

YOU ARE SPECIAL

The people of Midian were the enemies of Israel.
They ruled over Israel for seven years. The Midianites were too many to count. And they made life very hard for the Israelites. They stole their food and animals and left nothing for the Israelites. Many Israelites ran to the mountains to try to get away from the Midianites.

They asked God to help them.

There was a man named Gideon who was afraid of the Midianites. But God had a special plan for him. God knew that he was a good leader and a strong fighter. God spoke to Gideon and told him what he needed to do. God promised to help him and his 300 men win the fight against the many Midianites.

Gideon didn’t believe he was good enough for the job. He didn’t think he was special.

But he trusted in God and God helped him to win.

My special fruits

Maybe you can run really fast!
Maybe you are very caring.

These are the gifts God has given you. God uses your gifts to help you through the storms!

You matter to God!

Dear God,
Thank you for making me, ME!
Help me to remember that I am special.
Amen.
